International fastening technology manufacturer EJOT has doubled the size of its production facility warehouse with a multi-million-pound extension, which has been built by construction specialist Clegg Group.
The extension to EJOT’s current site in Sherburn in Elmet, near Leeds, will increase the company’s storage capabilities, enabling the fastening products manufacturer to fulfil orders more readily across Europe and beyond.
Clegg Group operated as principal contractor under a design and build contract on the project, managing the construction works and building services installation over a nine-month period.
John Moxon, business development director at Clegg Food Projects, said:
“We’re delighted to have completed this key project, which will massively increase EJOT’s capacity and support its UK and European operations.
“Extending existing sites is always a challenge, especially when normal daily operations are continuing on site. However, with careful planning and working collaboratively with the EJOT team, we have been able to successfully complete the warehouse project.”
The extension works have enabled the team to repurpose the existing section of the building, which was formerly used for storage to enhance its on-site manufacturing capabilities.
EJOT has, for some time, been at the limits of maximising its factory, warehouse, and office space, and the investment is part of a long-term vision that was planned long before the global pandemic.
The additional space will increase the company’s capacity for research, development, and testing as well as expand its product offering and reputation as a centre of manufacturing excellence.
