2017 was an interesting year for the food and drink industry, particularly with Brexit never far away from the headlines. However, investment continued to rise at a reasonably strong level as the discussions about the future of the UK and Europe progressed.
Top line statistics for 2017
We are proud to say that we have recruited some excellent talent and increased our staffing levels by more than 10% to help support the 20 plus projects that were either procured or completed in 2017.
The business has also secured more opportunities than ever before which made 2017 a positive year with higher overall project numbers and increased turnover by more than 10% compared to last year.
Building relationships and expanding our experience
In 2017 we continued to build our relationships with some great existing customers in the poultry, soft drinks and brewing sectors but we also gained some new clients within the dairy and confectionary industries.
In addition, we strengthened our longstanding relationship with Samworth Brothers as members of the team participated in the firm’s Charity Challenge for the fifth consecutive year.
Last year we also branched out and successful transferred our vast experience and skills into new sectors including:-
- Testing Laboratory
- Major Food Retail Sites
- Motor Industry Retail
- Industrial Warehousing
- Healthcare Product Manufacturing
Expanding into new sectors brought some variation to the year and helped maintain national coverage with projects from Edinburgh to London, Norwich to Gloucester.
We already have a number of projects in the pipeline for 2018 and will be exhibiting at Foodex again this year.
We are looking forward to seeing what the year will bring for both business and our industry.
