The UK’s largest fresh pasta manufacturing facility has been completed for booming direct-to-consumer brand Pasta Evangelists.
Appointed as the principal contractor in early 2022, we were responsible for overseeing the building’s conversion from the former Jack Wills head office and warehouse into a high-care fresh pasta and sauce facility.
Located in central London, the space underwent a huge transformation – with a completely reconfigured internal space and the installation of state-of-the-art equipment – to create a high-end commercial food processing, packaging, and storage facility with distribution space.
Oliver Jenkins, business development manager at Clegg Food Projects, said: “This has been a fantastic project to work on and we’re really pleased to have handed the facility over to the Pasta Evangelists team.
“The launch event was a great celebration to mark the culmination of hard work over the past year and I look forward to seeing what the brand does next.”
The project comes after a period of successful growth for Pasta Evangelists, which was famously turned down by Dragon’s Den in 2018. Having delivered more than one million portions of pasta last year, demand for its products continues to rise as it expands into new channels following its sale to Barilla in 2021.
Alessandro Savelli, CEO of Pasta Evangelists, said: “We’re delighted to announce the launch of our first pasta factory in the UK, and we’re proud to say it will be the UK’s largest pasta factory to date.
“The launch comes after years of planning and innovation, as we aim to expand our pasta offering to thousands of consumers across the UK. Utilising the latest technology and machinery will help us on our mission to experiment with new flavours, high-quality seasonal ingredients and a variety of pasta shapes to expand our growing pasta portfolio.”
